The following steps are to be used as guidelines when troubleshooting a no sound issue:
1. Verify system volume control is not turned low or muted.
2. Verify speaker volume control is not turned low or off.
3. Check the Device Manager to make sure there are no driver conflicts.
o If a conflict exists, remove the device and reinstall the driver.
o If a conflict does not exist, move on to the next step.
4. Verify if the sound issue is limited to Windows sound events. (Testing this using an audio CD.)
If there is still no sound after checking the above items try the following steps:
1. If speakers are available, verify the external speakers are plugged into correct port on sound card.
2. If system has integrated sound and expansion sound, verify it is plugged into correct source.
3. If you are using external speakers, verify speakers are getting power from known good power source.
4. Verify settings in System Setup.
5. Verify speakers work by plugging speakers into CD-ROM audio and playing audio CD-ROM.
6. Reinstall the Sound Card Drivers.
If the issue still exists, the issue is likely hardware related or due to a corrupt Operating System. Operating System reinstallation may be necessary. Please contact Fujitsu Technical Support at 800-8FUJITSU (1-800-838-5487) for more assistance.
