Follow these general troubleshooting steps for touchpad not working:
1. Boot to Safe Mode with Networking
2. Check if touchpad is working
3. If touchpad is working then download and install the latest drivers for pointing and restart system. If after restart and the touchpad is still not working, try connecting an external mouse and check if it would work.
4. If it still is not working do a System Restore to an earlier restore point.
