Here are some general steps to follow to troubleshoot the "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error when a working internet connection exists:
Note: This usually means there isn't a connection being detected, so before troubleshooting the software sides of the issue make sure all hardware is connected and modem/cable modem/dsl lights are active.
1. Open IE (Internet Explorer) and try to browse
o Able to browse, issue is already resolved
o Error Message Appeared: “Page Cannot Be Displayed” proceed to step 2
2. Clear Cache and Cookies on your browser. See how
o Able to browse, issue is already resolved
o Unable to browse proceed to step 3
3. Disable Antivirus and firewall and try to browse
o Able to browse, issue is already resolved
o Unable to browse proceed to step 4
4. Boot to safemode with networking and try to browse. See how
o Able to browse, issue is already resolved
o Unable to browse proceed to step 5
5. Use another browser to test e.g. Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
o Able to browse using another browser that is installed, the hardware is working properly and the issue is related to some sort of Internet Explorer setting
o The customer can't browse, proceed to step 6
6. Do system restore. See how.
